Description
A microcontroller pin can't power a lamp or a pump, but it can drive this module – the relay's contacts then switch the heavier load on a completely separate circuit. The input is isolated by an optocoupler and has its own driver transistor and flyback diode, so it's safe to connect directly.
Features
- Songle-type SRD-05VDC-SL-C relay with a 5 V coil
- Contacts rated 10 A at 250 V AC or 30 V DC
- Normally-open (NO), common (COM) and normally-closed (NC) screw terminals
- Optocoupler-isolated input, power and relay-on LEDs
- Input pins: VCC, GND, IN
How to connect
VCC → 5 V, GND → GND, IN → any digital pin. Most modules switch when IN is pulled LOW (check the silkscreen for a High/Low trigger jumper). Wire the load through COM and NO so it's off by default.
Safety
Mains (230 V) wiring can kill. If you're not trained, switch only low-voltage DC loads, keep the module in a closed plastic enclosure and never touch the board while it's powered.
Package includes
1 × 1-channel relay module
