Important – polarity
Electrolytic capacitors are polarised. The longer leg is positive (+), and the stripe on the sleeve marks the negative (−) leg. Fitted backwards, or used above its voltage rating, a capacitor can bulge or burst. Choose a rating at least 1.5× the voltage in your circuit.
