Description
Every electronics kit needs a handful of LEDs. These 5 mm LEDs plug straight into a breadboard and are bright enough for indicators and displays.

- Forward voltage: red and yellow about 1.8–2.2 V; green about 2.0–3.2 V; blue and white about 2.8–3.4 V
- Long leg = anode (+), short leg / flat edge = cathode (−)
How to use
Always use a series resistor: on 5 V about 150 Ω for red/yellow and 100 Ω for blue/white; on 3.3 V about 68 Ω for red/yellow and 22–47 Ω for blue/white (220 Ω works on 5 V for any colour, slightly dimmer).
